From intake answers to an Anchor proposal
Anchor sends proposals and engagement letters for accounting firms and bills the clients who sign them. OneForm asks the questions first. Connect the two, and every completed form can become a proposal draft in Anchor, with the services that client's answers call for already on it.

What it does
- Finds the client in Anchor by email, or adds them with their name, email, phone and business name. Nobody is added twice.
- Makes a proposal draft from one of your Anchor proposal templates, with its terms, packages and services.
- Adds the extra services you choose, each always or only when the answers or the lead score match.
- Starts workflows when the proposal is signed, or when it expires or is withdrawn.
Connecting Anchor
You need a OneForm account on Pro or Firm, as an owner or admin of your firm, and an Anchor account where you're an admin or owner.
- In Anchor, open Integrations → API keys and create a key named OneForm.
- In OneForm, open Integrations → Anchor.
- Paste the key and the email you sign in to Anchor with, then press Save & test. OneForm shows your Anchor business name.
Anchor uses API keys rather than a sign-in, so this is the one app you connect with a key. OneForm keeps it encrypted and never shows it again.
Making a proposal from a workflow
- Open a workflow. “Report is approved” is a good start, so someone has looked at the answers first.
- Add the action Create an Anchor proposal and choose your Anchor account and proposal template.
- Under Services to add, pick services from Anchor. Set each to Always, or Only when… with conditions on the answers or the score: for example, an S-corp election only for sole proprietors with enough profit to benefit.
- Turn the workflow on. Each new response makes a draft in Anchor for you to check and send.
When the client signs
Anchor tells OneForm as the proposal moves along. Two workflow triggers use that: Anchor proposal is signed, to send an onboarding form or alert your team, and Anchor proposal expires or is withdrawn, to follow up. Each runs once per proposal. Proposals made by hand in Anchor don't start them.
What OneForm keeps
- Your Anchor API key and user email, encrypted at rest. Disconnecting deletes them and stops Anchor's updates to OneForm.
- For each proposal it made, Anchor's ids for the client, draft, proposal and agreement, and how far the proposal got.
Client details stay with the response they came from. More in our Security page and Privacy Policy.
Questions
What does the OneForm and Anchor integration do?
When a client fills in a OneForm form, a workflow finds or adds them as a client in Anchor and makes a proposal draft from one of your Anchor proposal templates, with the services their answers call for. You check the draft and send it from Anchor. When the client signs, OneForm can start another workflow.
How does OneForm pick which services go into the Anchor proposal?
You choose services from your Anchor service templates and set each one to Always, or Only when the answers or the score match conditions you set, such as adding an S-corp election service when the business type is sole proprietor.
Does OneForm send the proposal to my client?
No. The proposal stays a draft in Anchor until someone at your firm checks it and sends it from Anchor.
How do I connect Anchor to OneForm?
Create an API key in Anchor under Integrations → API keys, then paste it in OneForm under Integrations → Anchor with the email you sign in to Anchor with. That person needs to be an admin or owner in Anchor.
Which OneForm plans include Anchor?
The Anchor workflow action is on Pro and Firm, like the other CRM and practice-management apps.
What happens when a client signs the Anchor proposal?
Anchor tells OneForm, and workflows that start with “Anchor proposal is signed” run once for that proposal, for example to send your onboarding form. Another trigger runs when a proposal expires or is withdrawn before it's signed.
