Anchor sends your proposals and engagement letters and bills your clients. With Anchor connected, a workflow can turn someone's answers into a proposal draft in Anchor, with the services their answers call for. You check the draft and send it from Anchor. When the client signs, OneForm can start another workflow, for example to send your onboarding form.
Connect Anchor
Anchor connects with an API key instead of a sign-in.
- In Anchor, open Integrations → API keys and create a key. Name it OneForm.
- Go to Integrations in OneForm. The Anchor panel opens.
- Paste the key, and enter the email you sign in to Anchor with. Proposals are made as this person, so they need to be an admin or owner in Anchor.
- Click Save & test. OneForm checks the key and shows your Anchor business name.
Connecting also tells Anchor to let OneForm know when a proposal it made is sent, opened, signed, withdrawn or expires.
Make a proposal from a workflow
- Open Workflows and open the workflow you want. "Report is approved" is a good trigger, so a person has looked at the answers first.
- Click + (Add an action) and choose Create an Anchor proposal.
- Under Anchor connection, choose your Anchor account.
- Under Proposal template, choose one of your Anchor proposal templates. Its terms, packages and services come with it.
- Under Services to add, add any services from Anchor that should go in on top. For each, choose Always, or Only when… and add conditions on the answers or the score (the same conditions as an If/Else). For example, add "S-corp election" only when the business type is "Sole proprietor".
- Click Test it, then Turn on.
OneForm finds the client in Anchor by email, or adds them with their name, email, phone and business name. A client already in Anchor isn't added again. The proposal stays a draft until you send it from Anchor.
Start a workflow when a proposal is signed
Make a workflow and choose one of these to start it:
- Anchor proposal is signed: when the client approves a proposal that a "Create an Anchor proposal" action made.
- Anchor proposal expires or is withdrawn: when such a proposal expires, or is withdrawn, before it's signed.
Each starts once per proposal. Proposals you make yourself in Anchor don't start them.
Disconnect Anchor
On the Integrations page, click Manage on the Anchor card, then Disconnect. OneForm stops Anchor's updates about proposals. The clients and proposals it made stay in Anchor. To be sure the key can't be used again, delete it in Anchor too.
Why wasn't a proposal made?
- The client didn't leave an email. Anchor finds and adds clients by email, so the action skips people without one.
- The key was deleted or the person isn't an admin. The Anchor card moves to Needs attention. Make a new key in Anchor and save it on the card.
- Anchor wouldn't add a service. This happens with a template that groups its services into packages. The rest of the proposal is still made, and the run's Activity says which service to add in Anchor.
