Is my information safe?

In plain words, who sees your answers, how they're protected, and the privacy choices some forms give you.

For your clientsUpdated October 22, 2026 · 2 min read

Your accountant uses OneForm to run their forms. Your answers go to your accountant's firm, and OneForm keeps them safe on the firm's behalf. Here's what that means for you.

Who sees your answers

  • Your accountant's firm. They asked the questions, and they decide what happens with your answers.
  • No one else, unless the firm sets it up. OneForm doesn't sell your answers or use them for advertising. Your answers only go to other tools, like the firm's client database or calendar, when the firm connects them.

The first and last screens of a form usually show a short line, such as Your answers go to followed by the firm's name. If the firm has its own privacy policy, a Privacy policy link sits next to it. That policy explains how the firm uses your information.

How your information is protected

  • A secure connection. Everything you type travels over an encrypted connection.
  • Stored in the United States. Your answers are kept on servers in the US and backed up every day.
  • Card details go to Stripe. If you pay for a report or a call, you pay on Stripe's secure page. The form never sees your card number.
  • Your voice isn't kept. On forms you answer by talking, each reply is turned into text and the sound is thrown away. Only your answers are saved.
  • Links are hard to guess. The links in your emails are long and random. Still, anyone with one of them can open that page, so don't forward them.

AI and your answers

Your accountant may use OneFormAI, an AI writing tool, to help draft your report from your answers. Your answers aren't used to train AI models. Someone at the firm usually reads the report before it's sent to you.

Some tax forms show a short line at the bottom, with a shield, saying your tax information is protected under federal law. Tap it to read Your Taxpayer Privacy Rights.

Before you submit, some of these forms also ask your permission for certain things, such as processing your answers with AI:

  1. Read each request. Click Read the full consent to see the full wording.
  2. Tick only what you agree to. You can send the form either way.
  3. If you ticked anything, type your full name to sign.
  4. Click Submit (or Continue).

If you don't agree to AI processing on a voice form, you'll continue with the typed form instead. Questions about what a consent means go to your accountant.

Good to know

  • Want your information deleted or corrected? Ask your accountant. They hold your answers and can delete them.
  • More detail. OneForm's Security page and Privacy Policy explain how the service is run.

Is the form really from my accountant?

Forms and emails from your accountant carry their firm's name, and replies to their emails go to the firm. If something looks wrong, don't fill it in. Contact your accountant using a phone number or email address you already know, and ask them.
