Fix a form that won't load or an embed that's blank

Why a form link says it isn't accepting responses, or a form on your website is blank, and how to fix each cause.

If clients can't open your form, or the space on your website where the form should be is empty, the cause is usually the form's status, your plan, or your website blocking the code.

Symptoms

  • The form link shows This form is not accepting responses.
  • On your website, the form is blank, or shows only the form's name with an Open the form button.
  • A voice form opens as a typed form, or a booking page link doesn't work.
  • The form on your website is cut off at the bottom.

Likely causes, most common first

  1. The form is a draft. Only published forms accept responses. Drafts show This form is not accepting responses to everyone outside your firm.
  2. The link is wrong or incomplete. A link with a typo shows the same message.
  3. Your plan doesn't include website embeds. The form on your site turns into a card with an Open the form button, which opens the form in a new tab.
  4. Your website removed the code. Some website builders and WordPress security plugins strip scripts from pages, which leaves the space blank.
  5. Your website's security settings block the form. A site with a Content Security Policy has to allow OneForm.
  6. The plan no longer includes a feature the form uses. Voice forms open as typed forms without voice on your plan, and booking pages aren't shown without bookings.
  7. Your firm's account is paused. All your forms stop accepting responses until it's active again.

What to check

  1. Open the form and go to its Share tab.
  2. If you see This form is a draft, that's cause 1.
  3. Under Add to your website, look for Adding forms to your website is on the … plan and up. That's cause 3.
  4. Copy the link from the Share tab and open it in a private browser window. If it works there, the form is fine and the problem is the link you shared or your website.

After you publish or change a form, give it up to a minute before you test it from outside OneForm.

How to fix it

  • Draft: on the Share tab, click Publish.
  • Wrong link: copy the link again from the Share tab and send it to your client.
  • No embeds on your plan: upgrade from the Upgrade button on the Share tab, or share the link instead.
  • Code removed by your website: open Code not working on your site? Use the simpler version under the code, click Copy, and paste that instead. It has a fixed height and no pop-ups, but works on any site. In WordPress, paste either version into a Custom HTML block.
  • Blocked by your site's security settings: ask whoever runs your website to allow https://app.oneform.si in the script-src and frame-src parts of the site's Content Security Policy.
  • Cut off at the bottom: the simpler version has a fixed height. Use the main code, which grows with the form, or ask your web developer to make the frame taller.
  • Voice or booking page missing: check your plan, and see When you reach a plan limit.

Why does the form work for me but not for my client?

When you're signed in, previews from the builder show even draft forms. Your clients only see published ones. Publish the form, then test the link in a private window where you're not signed in.

Why does my embed show "The form opens in a new tab"?

That's the card OneForm shows in place of the form when your plan doesn't include website embeds. The form itself still works: clicking Open the form opens it in a new tab.

When to contact support

Use Send feedback in the sidebar, or oneform.si/support, when the form is published and opens in a private window, but still won't show on your website after trying the simpler version. Include the web address of the page where the form should appear.
