Forms in other languages

Offer a form in English, French and Spanish, let OneFormAI translate it, and check every line yourself.

A form can be offered in English, French and Spanish. OneFormAI translates your questions, you check and edit any line, and clients pick their language from a menu on the form.

Turn on languages

  1. Open the form in the builder and go to the Settings tab.
  2. Turn on Languages.
  3. Under Languages offered, choose the languages clients can pick from.
  4. Under The form is written in, choose the language you wrote the form in.
  5. Leave Pick the visitor's browser language automatically on if the form should open in the visitor's own language when it's offered.

Translate the form

  1. Click Translate missing with OneFormAI. OneFormAI translates every line that isn't translated yet.
  2. Choose a language with the switch above the list, for example Español · 4 (4 lines left to check) or Français ✓ (all done).
  3. Read each line. Type in the box beside it to change a translation.
  4. Switch between To do and All lines to see only what still needs work, or everything.

Lines you've edited by hand are kept when you click Translate missing with OneFormAI again. Re-translate all starts over for every line.

Preview a language

In the Build tab, choose a language from the menu above the preview. While you preview another language, edit translations in the Settings tab; the preview's click-to-edit works only in the form's own language.

What clients see

  • A language menu in the top corner of every screen, except the thank-you screen.
  • Buttons, hints and error messages in their language, as well as your translated questions.
  • The form in their browser's language when it's offered, unless they've picked one before.

Good to know

  • Changed a question? Its translations are marked changed since translated. Click Translate missing with OneFormAI to update them. Until a changed choice is translated again, clients see the original wording for it.
  • Translating uses a few OneAI Tokens. See OneAI Tokens.
  • Link straight to a language by adding ?lang=es (or fr, en) to the form's link.
  • Your website embed can open in the visitor's language or a fixed one. See Put a form on your website.

Why is part of my form still in English?

  • Some lines aren't translated yet. Open the Settings tab, choose the language and look under To do.
  • The text changed after it was translated. Lines marked changed since translated need a new translation.

Why is "Translate missing with OneFormAI" greyed out?

OneFormAI isn't available right now. You can still type translations yourself. If your firm's OneAI Tokens are used up, clicking the button shows a message instead; see OneAI Tokens.
